Alongside a degree in theater studies, Ysmahane trained in clowning and masked acting with Joël Bluteau and Nicole Félix. She also trained in theater with Peter Brook, Ariane Mnouchkine, Simon Abkarian, Pierre Meunier, and Bruno Esposito, and in London with Hideki Noda. Since 2004, she has participated to several workshops with Nadine George, using a method based on voice, body, and text. She obtained accreditation to teach Nadine George’s work in August 2024.
For 14 years, she performed under Irina Brook in “An Odyssey,” “The Good Soul of Setchuan,” “Tempest!”, and “The Island of Slaves,” and assisted her in the staging of Rossini’s opera “Cenerentola” at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.
She was directed by Peter Brook in his production of Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” at the Aix-en-Provence Festival.
She has performed in theater under the direction of Gilberte Tsai at the CDN de Montreuil, Hervé Petit, Khalid Tamer, Thissa d’Avila Bensalah, Vincent Clergironnet, and Lilian Llyod.
In cinema, she worked under the direction of Sam Karman, Thomas Vincent, Farid Lozès, Maeva Poli, Marion Lary, Bania Medjbar, Janus Metz, and Alexis Michalik.
She also guest-starred on television in the series “Un si grand soleil.”
She is also a teacher and actress in the Théâtre de l’Opprimé program and has been leading workshops on gender relations for various audiences, both adults and young people, with the Compagnie De(s)amorce(s) for 20 years.
From 2015 to 2022, she played in “Le Porteur d’Histoire” directed by Alexis Michalik.
She assisted him in his creation of “Une Histoire d’Amour” un Théâtre de la Scala (Paris – 2020).
She is responsible for the revival the Spanish version “Una historia de Amor” Théâtre Canal in Madrid in 2022, as well as those of “Porteur d’Histoire” Comédie Odéon in Lyon and Théâtre des 100 Noms in Nantes.
Since January 2024, she is playing in “Passeport” by Alexis Michalik at the Théâtre de la Renaissance (Paris) and on tour.
She founded her company: Les Joyeux Artisans de Lumière in March 2022 and directed 2 shows which have been performed in Paris and Burgundy.”
