Welcome to

Nadine George Voice Work International

Welcome to my new web site for Nadine George Voice Work International.

I have been working with my unique work on the human voice for 40 years.

I am a professional actress and I worked with Roy Hart on the human voice for 15 years and was a founder member of the Roy Hart Theatre. On leaving the Roy Hart Theatre I have developed my own work based on Roy Hart’s work on the human voice and my own work on the work with the classic text from my work as an actress.

I have worked with young actors in Theatre Schools in Scotland, France, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Finland and with professional actors in different contexts in these countries over a period of 30 years.

I have also been giving my international workshops in July and August in London, Glasgow, Denmark, Iceland and the Faroe Islands over a period of 30 years.

I was given an honorary doctorate of Drama by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland for my work on the voice and the text over a period of 30 years.

I give on-line lessons and workshops to people from different countries in the world so that they can have access to the work and see how they want to move forward with this.

I am a professional practitioner of the analysis of the Shakespearian text.

NGVWI provides training and workshops based on the work of internationally renowned voice teacher Nadine George.

My Workshops

I have extended my work on the human voice to working with professional practitioners in the Art in Health sector in Scotland who I have worked with for 20 years and we are continuing to work with each other.

These professional practitioners work with men women and children who have disabilities both physically and in learning, are creating performances with women in depression or who have come out of depression, with older women in our society, and with older people who are long term hospital patients working with them on drawing and painting with professional artists working with them.

Some of these practitioners work directly in connection with the NHS in Scotland.

It is clear from my discussions with these practitioners that their work with me has been a compliment to their work and has helped them to move forward developing my work in their own way.

How I can help

Workshops

As we continue with our hugely successful online offerings we are delighted to announce further in person workshops this summer with Nadine in Iceland and Glasgow.

Teachers

Each voice is unique to that individual and no two voices are the same. This voice work uses practical exploration of the breath, relaxation, sung sound and text work.

A message from Nadine…

We have all gone through many changes in our work and our life with Covid but I feel we have all come through this and moved the work to another level in many ways. I am very proud of everyone who has gone on this path with the voice.

As the world faces new challenges it is very important that through these changing and uncertain times we continue to develop the work in the way that is right for all of us. I am sure we will continue to come through the challenges and the work on the voice will have its own impact on the future. Take care and stay safe.

With love, Nadine

Nadine George

Nadine George, founder of NGVWI, trained as an actress at the Central School of Speech and Drama in 1962, studying under renowned voice director Cicely Berry.

She went on to work closely with fellow actor Roy Hart, researching work on the human voice and in 1975 was a founder member of the Roy Hart Theatre in Malerargues, France.

Join a Workshop

I already have 20 accredited teachers of my work teaching the Nadine George Voice Work in Scotland, England, France, Denmark, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Finland.

I have now created an accreditation process for people who have worked with me for several years to apply to participate in the accreditation process to teach the Nadine George Voice Work.

I would like to develop the work so that it can be worked with in different countries in the world with people from different walks of life and who are not necessarily artists.

So that my work can go directly into our society throughout the world. I am looking at different ways I can do this.
